ቴዲ አፍሮ በመባል የሚታወቀው ቴዎድሮስ ካሳሁን ገርማሞ ኢትዮጵያዊ ዘፋኝ-ዜማ ደራሲ ብቻ አይደለም፤ እሱ የባህል አዶ እና ለህዝቡ ኃይለኛ ድምጽ ነው። ሐምሌ 14 ቀን 1976 አዲስ አበባ ውስጥ የተወለደ ሙዚቃው ከቋንቋ እና ከባህላዊ ውጣ ውረዶች የሚሻገር ነው።

ቴዲ አፍሮ ከልጅነቱ ጀምሮ በሙዚቃ ተከቦ ነበር፣ ስሜቱን እና ፈጠራውን ያቀጣጠለው። አባቱ ካሳሁን ገርማሞ ታዋቂ የዜማ ደራሲ እና ሙዚቀኛ ሲሆኑ እናቱ ጥላዬ አራጌ ጎበዝ ዳንሰኛ ነበሩ። ይህ የሙዚቃ ቅርስ ለቴዲ አፍሮ ልዩ የጥበብ ጉዞ መሰረት ጥሏል።
